Carrie Underwood is our new American Idol!

It's a happy day for me.  Happy happy.  Last night's two-hour red carpet finale was very impressive for me.  Mikalah's interviewing (a perfect representation of her personality), the group songs (Constantine, Jessica, and Nadia?  Yes!), and the spoof.

Ah yes, the spoof.  Can't forget the spoof.

A few weeks ago, reports came public that former American Idol 2 contestant Corey Clark (kicked off the show for a police record) had a sexual affair with judge Paula Abdul.  It caused a huge controversy, and there was a Primetime Live special about it.  Afterwards, Paula seemed subdued--she was less enthusiastic and picked less fights with Simon.  On the show the week after the Primetime special, however, the other judges had the audience applaud Paula and show their support, which helped a lot.  Paula has, I believe, denied Clark's allegations.

Well, on last night's finale, they did a spoof off of the Primetime special.  It was a "Crime Time" special about Simon's "deep dark secret".  Obviously a parody, it dealt with several things detailed in the Primetime special, questioning Clark's motives (he's telling the details now, two years after the fact?  Is it coincidence that he's about to release an album and a book?), and basically mocking the entire thing, driving the point home that the producers don't take the claims seriously.

Then we get the results.  Oh, the results.  And it's...Carrie!  Happy day!

I'm tired of typing this.  So time to stop.

On Friday, I took a trip to Philadelphia with my Bio class to see the Mutter Museum, which is basically a place for very disgusting medical things.  Some people might like to see aborted fetus skeletons and women with ten-inch horns growing out of their heads...but I'm quite content to never go there again.  Plus there was all sorts of bill trauma at the restaurant we went to for lunch that day.  The food was good, though.

Anyway, yesterday we went for my Aunt Maureen's birthday party out in some secluded mill that they own and live at.  Tara and Lauren weren't there *glares at both of them*, although I can forgive them because Tara had her prom and Lauren's at the mercy of her mom.

That rhymes, sort of.

Then the day took a morbid turn as Mike hit Gregory with a horseshoe in the head by accident.  Somehow the horseshoe hit three different places.  There was a lot of blood.  And, of course, this couldn't happen when we were NEAR a hospital, as opposed to being out in the middle of nowhere, like we were yesterday.

So the ambulance came and took him to the Emergency Room, where he had his head stapled, his broken nose set, and...well, he didn't look so good afterward.

My parents are at the beach now, so we're going to go see the new Star Wars today.  Fun.

That's my life.  How fun.

We bought a convertible!!!

It's dark green, black top, four seats.  Apparently it has good mileage and a great stereo, and cost around 6 thousand.  That's all I know.  I wasn't with my parents when they bought it.  We can pick it up on Thursday, I think.

On to other news...it's an Idol night, yay.  Final three...go Carrie!

Again I say it--Alicia Keys and her song Karma rock.  I realize that, even though I said her song would play on this site, it wasn't, but hopefully now it will.

My eye project was a success.  Goody.

Math?  Not so good.  I got a whopping 30% on my latest test, pushing my grade down to...well, let's just say I can't go home with this grade.  Fortunately, I can probably bring it up.

I cooked dinner, although there wasn't much I did.  I got out the chicken breasts, spun the spice rack around, and grabbed some fun spices that I pretty much just tossed on the chicken.  It smells really good.  I hope they taste good, too.

I guess that's it.  Ttfn, Ta-ta for now.

This weekend sucked.

Well, my mom and sister were out of town, which meant that my dad was in charge.  Not always the best of things, I'm afraid...he'll be neglectful of priorities half the time, and the other half of the time he's Super Dictator--and not a good one, at that.

Oh well.  I was sick for Friday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday morning.  This pretty much kept me bed-bound during that time.  I was forced to cancel my trip to Maryland with Aunt Tammy...both of us were really dissapointed.

I spent my Saturday night watching Sex and the City episodes from the last season.  Fun.

I had to do pretty much all of my homework today.  I had to make two eye models out of Sculpey--and not just white with iris and pupil.  I had to actually take a section of it to show the insides.  Not fun...then when I was baking them, I accidentally had it tilted, so they baked all crooked.  Oh well.  At least the rest of that project went by without incident.

Then I had to write a book report on a book I hadn't read.  The book was about JFK's assassination and the life of Lee Harvey Oswald, the man to whom the assassination is attributed.  I skimmed a bit and wrote a good report.  I rock.

I'm so glad to have all of that out of the way.  Now to just relax and enjoy Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy...

I decided that I absolutely LOVE Alicia Keys and her new song, Karma.  It's awesome.  I recommend listening to it.  In fact, it's now the song on this site.  Enjoy.

Okay.  So I haven't made any new entries lately.  Get over it.

Highlights of my week?  Glad you asked.

Anthony was kicked off of Idol.  I wasn't glad to see him go, but he was the obvious choice.  He's good, but he's not on the same level as Carrie, Bo, or Vonzell.  Carrie was really distraught with him going, though...you could see her shouting "I love you" as he sang his good-bye song.

Yesterday I got to go on my Japanese field trip.  Before that, though, I had my morning class, English, where I did rather badly on a True/False test.  I don't know the exact score, but our somewhat eccentric teacher told us the patterns that the answers went in, and I only got maybe half the pattern.  Oops.

Anyway, Japanese trip.  We start out with a one-hour bus ride to Philadelphia, where we went with a Japanese cultural house.  Because we were early, we had to wait an hour before going in--but that was okay, because our teacher had an activity for us.  We went around the house, sketching stuff in nature and writing haikus about them.  I sketched and wrote about a koi fish, the arch on the door of the house, a tree, and a "No Parking" sign.

So we go into the house, where some non-Japanese guy gives us a tour.  It's not all that exciting, sadly, but there was some cool information.  Of course, our school lunch is at 10 AM, and by this point it's almost noon, so we're all starving, which detracted from the experience.  When we got to the "gift shop" of the house, I bought some fancy chopsticks for two dollars.

So then we drive to a Japanese restaurant.  Our meals were pre-ordered.  Fortunately, we got soda (Sprite for me) instead of a Japanese tea or something, so yay.  Our "appetizer" was Miso soup--a foul, foul substance made of disgusting broth, tofu, and seaweed.  After taking one horrible sip, I decided to just wait for the main course.  It arrived--a tray of various different foods, including chicken (with a sauce I think was teriyaki), shrimp dumplings, some form of Sushi, salad (with an interesting orange dressing), and rice.  I tried everything but the sushi.  The chicken and salad were good--I ate all of them, and also ate the chicken from my vegetarian friend's tray.  I had one shrimp dumpling--it was very good, but I was getting full.  The rice was absolutely tasteless.  It literally had no flavor.  Then we got water to wash it all down.

So then, after an hour and a half in the restaurant, we arrive in Chinatown, where we get an hour to look around.  My group went to a Wawa and got nice, American food--pretzels and chocolate milk.  Then we went back into Chinatown and looked in some shops.  Everything was very expensive.  I bought a bag of fortune cookies for $2--an impulse buy.  I also spent a quarter on napkins (my hands were covered with cheese from a cheese-filled pretzel).  Then, right before we went home, I spent a dollar on a bad corn muffin.

On the way home, the traffic is horrible.  We were expected to arrive back home at 4:30.  We got there at nearly 6:00.  By that time, the corn muffin had made my throat very, very dry, and I had no drink of any sort, having finished the chocolate milk with the pretzels.  Upon arriving home, my throat hurt very badly, and still does.

Fortunately, my family went to Red Robin for dinner, where I got Chicken Parmesan.  Granted, we didn't get any appetizers or dessert  but it was still a good dinner.  Of course, my parents decided to give me another "college talk".

When I got home, I had to work on a Biology project worth 25% of our grade, due on Monday.  Or, rather, I had to START a Biology project worth 25% of our grade, due on Monday.  And, guess what?  I screwed it up, so I have to go buy more Sculpey tonight and redo it.

So then today rolls around.  Not a good day.  For starters, my throat still hurt.  I was relying on getting a glazed doughnut in the cafeteria for a much-needed sugar boost.  The cafeteria had no glazed doughnuts today.

My Biology teacher, despite having already assigned this super-project to us, decided to assign a lab report (due Thursday) AND a poster project (due Wednesday).  The poster isn't going to be fun.  He wants it to move.  Yes, move.  How I'm going to do that with poster, I don't know.  Oh, and I have a test in that class on Thursday.  I loathe my teacher.

I flat out failed my math test today, so I'll probably have a "D" in the class after the test.  That really, REALLY sucks.  My math teacher already doesn't like me.

So now I'm home.  A new neighbor apparently decided I was going to be her son's new best friend, so now I'm supposed to go over and hang out with her 15-year old son sometime in the near future.

Oh, and I have a book report on a 200+ page, nonfiction book due on Monday.  I haven't started the book.

I'll be going to Inner Harbor in Maryland on Saturday to go to the Aquarium and stuff with my Aunt Tammy, which will be fun--but it's a double-edged sword, too, because I could have really used that day to get some of this schoolwork done.
